SWITCHHOLIO - IT'S A THING and it's super fun!

Alright…inquiring minds want to know…how does this league work?  Here is the thing.  This league is starting as a social league.  A weekly gathering for Tri-muni community members to get out, have some fun with healthy competition, and meet new like minded people. In order to achieve this, we will be starting with a Switcholio league.

Simply put, Switcholio is a weekly blind draw round robin tournament in which players get a new partner for every game, and get ranked on an individual basis. The organizer can use that leaderboard to recognize and reward top finishers, and seed them into playoffs. Now, I know what you are thinking! “But I want to play with my Husband!”, or “Me and my buddy have been playing together for years!”…and trust me, we get it. However in order to get this league off the ground, we need to ensure it is a positive experience for everyone who joins us. On weeks where we have enough players to warrant it – we will split into Social and Competitive brackets of play.  How do we do this?  Well, with the Scoreholio app of course!

MORE LEAGUE INFO

The first thing you will do is register for the league with Cornhole Canada and pay your $10 season fee.  Next, you need to download the Scoreholio app and register yourself individually.  This APP is how you reserve your weekly spot, move from game to game, and see your league stats.  Be sure to turn on your location access so you can find us!

All players will accumulate skill statistics that allow us to rank players into different tiers when required.

A typical week of game play will go like this:

Players will arrive to the playing areas and register, grab a drink and start practicing.  Once we start the round robin play, there will not be enough boards for all players to play at once. Boards, bags (most players bring their own) and all lane lines will be set up, along with a tablet for score keeping on each lane.  Players will rotate on and off lanes as their games start and end, with Scoreholio keeping everyone “in the know!”.

At the end of the day’s match ups (which can vary on attendance) , we will play the airmail challenge, and do a single or double elimination playoff round.
